Message from the Chamber
Welcome home! Whether you’re visiting our site for the first time, or checking with us for information on what Your Chamber is doing for Your Business, we believe that you’ll feel at home.
Wilkinson County is unique for so may reasons, chief among them, is the integral part we play in the worldwide kaolin mining industry. Throughout Wilkinson County, seven municipalities can be found including: Allentown, Danville, Gordon, Irwinton, Ivey, McIntyre and Toomsboro. Our citizens find satisfying small town life in a county rich with resources and industries that also provide conveniences of modern life. Macon is just a short drive away as are Milledgeville, Gray and Dublin- all less than 30-minutes away, and easily accessible in-part thanks to our sprawling networks of state and US highways.
Balls Ferry State Park, unique historical places and business opportunities abound in Wilkinson County. With its strong industrial base and rural atmosphere, Wilkinson County is the perfect place to raise a family or start a business. Wilkinson County is the only county in the state of Georgia that has been named a County of Excellence by Georgia Trend and the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia in three consecutive years. The award is presented for tourism, industry and public infrastructure.
The Chamber of Commerce is stronger and more active than it has ever been, growing every year because of committed leadership from the Chamber Board. If you are not a member, we encourage you to stop by our office, call or email today to find out how to join and start enjoying the many opportunities that we offer including networking with other business leaders, plenty of social events and various outreach projects benefitting youth and the elderly in our community.
We truly are better together in Wilkinson County.
